Title: Energy Bars

2cUncooked multi-grain cereal
1/2cDark raisins
1/2cSnipped 1/2-inch pieces
  Pitted prunes
1/2cCoarsely chopped whole
  Natural (unblanched)
  Almonds
1/2cUnsalted sunflower seeds
1 1/4cUnbleached all-purpose
  Flour
2tsGround cinnamon
1tsBaking soda
1/2tsSalt
1/2cOil
2/3cLight brown sugar, packed
1lgEgg
1cUnsweetened applesauce
2tsVanilla

Combine cereal, raisins, prunes, almonds, sunflower seeds, flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt in large bowl. In separate bowl, whisk oil, brown sugar, egg until blended. Add applesauce and vanilla and stir to blend. Add dry ingredients and stir just until blended.

Spread batter in lightly buttered 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool until lukewarm on wire rack before cutting into bars. These are good served warm from the oven.
